Frequently Asked Questions

What is GYROTONIC ® exercise in a nutshell?

The Gyrotonic system is a type of exercise with deep body conditioning effects. Working with an accredited instructor, you’ll carry out a range of fluid movements on a specially designed machine to tone, stretch, strengthen and align every part of your body.

What should I wear?

You want to feel comfortable and able to move. Fairly loose clothing would be best with either socks or bare feet.

Who can do Gyrotonic sessions?

The beauty of the Gyrotonic system is that it can be tailored to suit the needs of every individual. It works as well for athletes and dancers as for those who just want general fitness and to tone up. It’s very low impact, which makes it ideal for seniors and those who need a more therapeutic application. If you have any questions about what the Gyrotonic system can do for you, then please feel free to call or email.

How often should I have sessions?

This is an entirely personal choice. Many clients come once a week but there are some who come two or three times a week and others who opt for fortnightly or even monthly sessions.

What can I expect from Gyrotonic sessions?

Many clients experience changes even within the first hour-long session. It’s not uncommon to leave the studio feeling taller and more relaxed. For long-term results, however, regular sessions would be recommended and the cumulative effect of those sessions tends to make very real changes to the body.
Longer, leaner muscle tone is created and with time good posture becomes effortless. In fact, many clients report that it becomes difficult to slouch. Perception of the body is fine-tuned and the client’s range of motion increases along with core strength. All-round fitness and mental well-being is improved with regular sessions.
